Top Picks: Best Budget Airbnb's to Stay in Seoul

Don't go there. Live there. They say you must live there like a local. Aigoo, gone are the days of expensive hotels! Today, we find unique "homes" for ourselves when we go to foreign places, and this is so easy to do when visiting South Korea.

I shared about my first ever solo travel to Seoul. Many have asked me where I stayed there. Seoul is one of those cities where everything is just so cute, almost looking like cartoons. And people are particularly fond of neat and fancy interiors! This means staying even in a cheap hostel wouldn't hurt at all! 😃  As for my experience, I have proven that staying in travel hostels do have a lot of perks: you get to meet lots of interesting people - who might even become your friends or travel buddies and you get to save a lot of your travel money. 😃  Okay, without further ado, here's a little list of accommodations that I would love to try if ever I visit Seoul again (something I'd do for sure). 😃

Price: PHP 623 or $ 13/ night

This guest house is 3-minutes away from Hongik University Station. No transfer needed from the Airport Express Line (AREX). The guest house provides almost-complete facilities and just everything you might need during your stay there. Home away from home. Also, this neighbourhood is where one of the best Art institutions in Seoul is situated giving you a youthful, romantic and artistic ambience. Galleries, cafes, restaurants, murals, and other forms of free self-expression.

  • 3 minutes from the train station
  • Clean, homey and very reasonable price
  • Most common feedback: "very comfortable bed" :)
PHP 810 or $16 / night

If you are the rejuvenetor type who would want to relax and enjoy calmer places to stay, you might like the Garden House Dorm. More than just the neat and cosy wooden interiors, it's the owner Mr. Won who seems to have won the hearts of all his guests! This dorm has comfortable lounges, very clean common areas and lots of free stuff and services. (luggage keeping, guides and maps.)

Price: PHP 747 or $15 / night
Noel's Guest House is located in Seoul's Special Tourism District, Itaewon. This neighbourhood is home to people of diverse nationalities and cultures. Itaewon is known for its vibrant shopping centers, bars, clubs and restaurants. The guest house is very close to most of the Tourist Attractions such as the Namsan Tower, Myeongdong, Namsan Hanok Village and Han River. Also, if your priority is to meet a lot of people and have an awesome social experience, this guest house fits you best. (Calling out all extroverts!) The owner of the guest house is an experienced traveller herself, who has lived abroad for ten years. For me, these people are the best hosts! She'd be willing to share and spend some barbecue nights on the rooftops with you.
  • 2 minutes away from train station and bus stop
  • Easy access to many tourist attractions, has great location
  • Very friendly and helpful Hosts
Price: PHP 747 or $15 /night
This guest house is also located in the free-spirited neighbourhood of Hongdae (My personal favorite! :D) You can choose whether you want to stay in a 2-bed, 4-bed or eve 6-bed dorms. The place is quite new, fresh and very clean! Some guests shared that there is a cute dog in the guesthouse, and the Host prepares delicious breakfast for the guests every morning. You can check out this place as one your options!
  • Place just newly opened
  • Located in a busy and youthful neighbourhood
  • Easy access and close to bus and train stations
PHP 859 or $17 / night

While everything in Seoul is creative and artsy enough, this little hostel has put more effort. The rooms have various themes yet maintaining a minimalist black & white concept. If you are looking for instagram-worthy dorm-rooms, this one is for you. Other perks would be some free cosmetic samples that are ready for you. If that doesn't really please you, how about a free strawberry toast and a nespresso capsule in the morning?
  • Themed rooms, best for the artsy and creative souls
  • Located in Hongdae again, with easy access and close to everything
  • Free STUFF :)
